Meet Dr. Abbie Henson
Dr. Abbie Henson is an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University, where she holds a PhD in Criminal Justice from Temple University.
As a trained qualitative researcher, Abbie has conducted 500+ interviews, which have allowed her to intimately unpack and understand the essential tools to engage in meaningful conversations.
She’s driven to discover and expand her thinking through unique and diverse conversations with people from all walks of life. She enjoys partnering with organizations brave enough to invest in relationships within their community while supporting each individual’s personal development and wellbeing.
Abbie is deeply dedicated to seeking balance in her own life and loves learning about and engaging in all things wellness and mindfulness. She enjoys activities like hiking, traveling, cycling, and hosting intimate dinner parties with friends.

Book Coming in 2025
For the past two years, Dr. Henson has developed the “10-Step Toolkit for Having Critical Conversations” which teaches people how to skillfully navigate conversations vital to personal happiness, a sense of belonging, and professional success.
Informed by interviews with world-renowned neuroscientists, psychologists, sociologists, and practitioners, this book is an expansion of season three of the WhatsJust Presents Critical Conversations podcast that was released in 2024.
